Kareen Pauld Camargo was born in Haiti, and
came to the United States at the age of two. She grew up in New York
where she trained at the American Ballet Theater School, the School
of American Ballet and the Dance Theatre of Harlem Workshop
Ensemble. She performed with the Dance Theatre of Harlem Company for
several years, before joining Miami City Ballet in 1990. She was a
featured dancer in such ballets as Balanchine’s Swan Lake, The
Nutcracker, Raymonda Variations, Scotch Symphony, Four Temperaments
and Agon; Jimmy Gamonet’s Transtangos; Lynn Taylor-Corbett’s Mystery
of the Dancing Princesses, and Paul Taylor’s Three Epitaphs, Company
B and Esplanade. Ms. Camargo has performed in Ray Sullivan’s Your
Blood, My Blood, Love without Permission, Intimate II and Tango
Undressed. This is her third season with Miami Contemporary Dance
Company.
