Mark Milner was born in Minas Gerais, Brasil.
He began his training with Betty Gooding in
Laurel, MD and went on to graduate from Baltimore School
for the Arts in 2001. Upon graduation, Mark joined the Miami City Ballet School
under the direction of Nancy Raffa where he was seen in many
workshop performances, including Balanchine's "Tarantella". After
two years of attending the school, he was asked to join the Miami
City Ballet in 2003. Under the direction of Edward Villella, he
performed in many Balanchine works including "Diamonds", "Stars and
Stripes", and "Stravinsky Violin Concerto". In 2006, he joined the
Alabama Ballet under the direction of Roger Van Fleteren and Tracey
Alvey. With the company, he danced a varied repertory including Max
in Septime Webre's "Where the Wild Things Are" and Mercutio in Van
Fleteren's "Romeo and Juliet". Mr. Milner is also certified in
Reiki, a form of spiritual energy healing. This is his first season
with Miami Contemporary Dance Company.
