Since the inception of its
South Florida Chapter three years ago, Travis has been the
Technical Director and designer for the Dance For Life concerts
at Miami’s
historical Gusman Theatre, where he met Ray Sullivan and his
dancers. Travis also designed the 2004 Florida Dance Festival
programs at New World School.
Travis received the 2002 South
Florida Carbonell Award for Best Lighting with his design of
Portrait with Mad Cat Productions at Miami Light Project’s
Light Box Studio, where he also designs the annual Here & Now
Festival of new works by Miami artists.
While occasionally going
on the road as the Stage Manager for Teo Castellano’s internationally
acclaimed one-man show NE 2nd Avenue, Travis is also currently
producing a new historical play and docudrama for The Crystal
Parrot Players – an international theatre company he recently
founded with local playwright Sandra Riley. For Miami Contemporary
Dance Company, Travis has designed When Words Pour Down, Tango
Undressed, Asiasong and The Death of Garcia Lorca. |
